A CALL TO ARTISTS - NOW CLOSED 2/22/19
Guild for Art & Literature (GAL) of Coconut Creek is seeking entries from established and emerging artists for our show Stories and Secrets. Work must be original in concept, design and execution. Works will be selected based on originality, creativity, workmanship and artistic distinction.
The show will hang from March 1, 2019 through April 30, 2019 at North Regional/Broward College Library, 1100 Coconut Creek Blvd, Coconut Creek, FL 33066. The theme coincides with the March 9, 2019, daylong event called “Tell Your Story”. Your piece(s) must include some aspect of telling a story, sharing a secret, keeping a secret, something hidden, and/or the written word.
This is an open call to all artists with 2-D works. The medium is open, including but not limited to photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, paper art, fiber art, wood, metal, glass or mixed media. Works should not exceed 36” in either direction or 25 lbs. in weight. Works may extend a few inches in depth off the surface, but must not extend beyond size requirements horizontally or vertically. NO NUDES will be accepted.
All work(s) must be submitted as 300 dpi jpegs by clicking the form below. Artists may submit up to three (3) different works for consideration that they personally have created. Submit one (1) jpeg of each piece of artwork and use the entry form below. Please save/send your images/jpegs with Artist’s Name and Title. Example: Joan-Smith-Native-Sound
Early deadline for submission is Friday, February 15, 2019 by 5:00 pm. NOTE: One early entry will be selected for cover artwork on our invitation and marketing and artist will be featured in press release.
Final deadline for submission is Friday, February 22, 2019 by 5:00 pm.
Accepted artists will be notified by February 25, 2019. Accepted works may be used for marketing purposes. The GAL committee has final decision on acceptance of work. Selection will be based upon creativity, originality, workmanship as well as space availability.
Details about intake, pick up, and pricing, etc., will be shared with the accepted artist.
